As part of the Civic Action Programme (CAP) by the Jammu & Kashmir Police, a week-long Bharat Darshan tour has been flagged off for a group of 68 students from District Shopian. The tour was inaugurated by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shopian, Anayat Ali Choudhary, along with Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shopian, Shukat Rafiq, and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) DAR, Javaid Ahmad.
The students, who are from various schools in the district, are accompanied by five police officials who will serve as their caretakers and guides throughout the journey. The tour is designed to provide these young participants with an opportunity to explore the cultural and historical richness of India.
During the flagging-off ceremony, SSP Shopian Anayat Ali Choudhary emphasized the primary goal of the Bharat Darshan tour—to give the youth of Shopian a chance to experience the unity within India’s vast diversity.
He highlighted that the tour is an initiative by the J&K Police to introduce the students to some of the country’s most exciting tourist destinations, historical landmarks, and cultural sites.
Choudhary further underscored the significance of such tours in broadening the horizons of the youth, helping them gain a deeper understanding of their country and fostering a sense of responsible citizenship.
He urged the students to make the most of this educational journey by immersing themselves in the knowledge and experiences these places offer.
The five-day tour includes visits to historical sites in Delhi and Mumbai, where students will get the chance to witness both the ancient and modern marvels of India.
