JK Govt Places +2 Principals as In-Charge Chief Education Officers

Jammu, January 31, 2025 – In a significant administrative move, the School Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has issued an order for the placement of +2 Principals and equivalent officials as In-Charge (I/c) Chief Education Officers (CEOs) and equivalent positions.

According to Government Order No. 84-JK (Edu) of 2025, the officials have been placed in their own pay and grade, with immediate effect, in view of administrative requirements and exigencies.

The above placements shall be subject to the following conditions:-

The placement is for a period of six months or till these posts
are filled up on regular basis through DPC/PSC under rules,
whichever, is earlier.

The officers shall not be entitled for charge allowance and
arrangement is purely on temporary basis and shall not confer
any preferential right upon these officers for their regular
promotion against these posts at the time of regularization
which shall be made strictly on the basis of seniority and in
terms of the extant recruitment rules.

In case of an adverse report from ACB/GAD (vigilance) or any
concerned agency, his/her assignment shall be deemed to have
been cancelled, ab-initio.

The officers shall join/report their new place of posting(s) within
10 days from the date of issuance of this order and in case of
failure to join within the stipulated time period, his /her
assignment shall be deemed to have been cancelled ab-inito,
without any further notice.

The officers shall submit an undertaking to the concerned
Director stating that in case his/her service particulars/academic
credentials are found fake/forged/tempered or issued by any
un-recognized university, his/her assignment shall be deemed
to have been cancelled ab-inito.

The above arrangement shall be without any prejudice to the
outcome of writ petition(s)/O.A(s), if any, pending in the
competent Court of Law and superior claim of seniority of
others.

Consequent upon the above, the following adjustments / transfers /
postings of I/c Chief Education Officers and Eq. are hereby ordered with immediate effect.

The officers shall exercise Drawing and Disbursing Powers in addition to
the Administrative Powers except the officers posted in JKBOSE, SCERT and Samagra
Shiksha.
