Jharkhand: Mother Jumps into Well with Children After Family Quarrel

In a heartbreaking incident in Jharkhand’s Seraikela-Kharswan district, three children lost their lives after their mother, identified as Puja Mahato, jumped into a well following a family quarrel.

The tragic event unfolded when Puja had a disagreement with her husband over a visit to her parent’s place on Saturday. Seizing an opportunity when her husband left for Ranchi, Puja, accompanied by her three children, took the drastic step of jumping into a well.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Seraikela) Dilip Khalko revealed that villagers rescued Puja from the well and rushed her to a community health center in Kharswan. However, the three minors, named Komal Kumari (9), Ananya Mahato (5), and Aryan Mahato, lost their lives in the tragic incident.

A police team promptly responded to the information, recovering the bodies in the evening. Puja is currently undergoing medical care at a nearby hospital.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations, shedding light on the distressing aftermath of the family quarrel. The community mourns the loss of three young lives in this unfortunate event.
