A Mumbai court has remanded Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal to 14-day judicial custody in a money laundering case connected to an alleged fraud of Rs 538 crore at Canara Bank. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Goyal on September 1 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The case originates from a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) FIR against Jet Airways, Goyal, his wife Anita, and former company executives over an alleged Rs 538 crore fraud at Canara Bank.
The bank had claimed that it granted credit limits and loans to Jet Airways totaling Rs 848.86 crore, with Rs 538.62 crore outstanding.
