
J-K CM Omar Abdullah Hosts Dinner for Ranji Trophy-Winning Jammu and Kashmir cricket team, Awards Rs. 2 Crore
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday hosted a formal dinner to felicitate the Jammu and Kashmir Ranji Trophy-winning cricket team, recognising their landmark achievement in national cricket.
The celebration, held in the presence of Cabinet colleagues and senior officials, saw the players receive a cash award of Rs 2 crore for their outstanding performance. Mithun Manhas, President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), also attended the event.
Congratulating the team, the Chief Minister praised the players’ dedication, perseverance and skill, stating that their victory has brought immense pride to Jammu and Kashmir. He urged them to continue striving for excellence and representing the region with distinction at the national level.
The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary; Ministers Sakina Itoo, Javed Ahmad Rana, Javid Ahmed Dar and Satish Sharma; Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo; Commissioner Secretary Youth Services and Sports Shahid Iqbal Choudhary; Director General Youth Services and Sports, JKCA administrators and other senior officers.
The recognition underscores the Jammu and Kashmir government’s commitment to promoting sports and supporting athletes who achieve national-level success.
