Italian Navy Shoots Down Drone in Red Sea

Italy’s Defense Ministry has revealed that the navy ship Duilio successfully shot down a drone approaching it in the Red Sea. The drone, displaying similar characteristics to those in previous attacks, was approximately 6km (3.73 miles) from the Italian ship.

This incident comes amid heightened security concerns in the region, prompting the European Union to launch the Eunavfor Aspides naval mission for the protection of shipping in the Red Sea.

Rear Admiral Stefano Costantino of the Italian Navy has been appointed as the force commander for this mission.
