Inside the Fortunes of Oscar 2026’s Wealthiest Nominees
According to a February 2026 report on the richest Oscar nominees, Leonardo DiCaprio is the wealthiest contender this year. With the 98th Academy Awards scheduled in a month, a new study by the digital entertainment platform JB.com shows which finalists have accumulated the most wealth throughout their careers.
- Leonardo DiCaprio is worth $300M, making him the wealthiest Academy Award finalist and eight times richer than the other nominees.
- The richest woman competing for an Oscar this year is Kate Hudson, whose fortune reaches $80M.
- Benicio del Toro and Stellan Skarsgård, both shortlisted for best supporting actor nominations, are estimated at around $50M each.
To find the richest Oscar nominees competing in 2026, the study looked at all 27 people nominated for acting and directing awards this year. Each person’s net worth came from public celebrity wealth databases and was checked against multiple entertainment sources. For the 10 wealthiest nominees, the study also counted Instagram followers and monthly Google searches to measure how much attention each celebrity gets online.

1. Leonardo DiCaprio
- Net Worth: $300M
- Film: One Battle After Another
- Nomination: Best Actor
- Instagram Followers: 59.9M
- Monthly Google Searches: 14.7M
Leonardo DiCaprio is the richest person competing at the Oscars this year. While all the other finalists are also millionaires, DiCaprio’s $300M net worth is still about eight times higher than most. His best actor nomination for One Battle After Another brings him back to the Oscars for the first time in six years, though his 60M Instagram followers show he’s remained one of Hollywood’s most popular actors throughout this time.
2. Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson is the wealthiest woman competing for Academy Awards in 2026. Her $80M fortune puts her well ahead of other female nominees such as Emma Stone and Rose Byrne, who both have considerably less. Hudson is nominated for best actress in Song Sung Blue, her second nomination since 2001, which has brought the actress increasing attention, with over 11 million people now searching for her each month.
3. Sean Penn
Sean Penn comes in third with $70M, tying with the best director nominee, Paul Thomas Anderson, for the same net worth. He’s competing for best supporting actor in One Battle After Another, the film that also got DiCaprio his nomination. Despite Penn’s absence from social media, he remains one of Hollywood’s most-followed actors, being looked up by nearly 2 million people online every month.
4. Paul Thomas Anderson
Paul Thomas Anderson follows next with an equal $70M net worth. He’s nominated for directing One Battle After Another, the same film that earned Penn and DiCaprio their acting nomination. While Anderson is not as popular as his actors, he beats every other finalist director in terms of wealth. His $70M fortune is seven times larger than fellow best director nominee Chloé Zhao’s $10M and 14 times more than Joachim Trier’s $5M.
5. Emma Stone
Emma Stone rounds out the top five with $60M, making her the second-richest actress in the race. She’s nominated for best actress in Bugonia, a black comedy from director Yorgos Lanthimos. This marks her second nomination for a Lanthimos film after winning the Oscar for Poor Things. That win clearly stuck with audiences, as 10M people search for information about her each month, keeping Stone among the most discussed actresses right now.
The CEO of JB.com commented on the study:
“DiCaprio might be the richest Oscar nominee this year, but when it comes to the best actor award, he is not actually predicted to win it. Most film critics think it’s between Timothée Chalamet and Michael B. Jordan. Jordan starred in Sinners, which this year set a record with 16 Oscar nominations, the most any single film has ever received.”
