Infiltration Bid Foiled Along LoC in Rajouri, One Terrorist Killed
Security forces foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, killing one terrorist during an encounter, officials said.
According to the White Knight Corps of the Indian Army, troops detected suspicious movement of two terrorists in the general area of Jhangar in the Nowshera sector around 3 pm following credible intelligence inputs.
Alert army personnel quickly responded and engaged the infiltrators, leading to an exchange of fire. During the encounter, one Pakistan-sponsored terrorist was eliminated, effectively preventing any breach along the LoC, officials said.
The Army stated that the operation successfully foiled the infiltration attempt.
Security forces have launched a search operation in the area to locate the second terrorist, who is believed to be hiding nearby.
Authorities have also intensified surveillance across the sector with integrated ground and aerial monitoring to maintain full domination of the region.
The Indian Army has strengthened its operational posture in the Nowshera sector following the incident, amid continued efforts to prevent infiltration attempts along the Line of Control.
