Indian Army Foils Infiltration Attempt in J-K’s Uri Sector; Operation in Progress
Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) police successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by terrorists in the Uri sector of J-K’s Baramulla district, as per official sources. Ongoing firing is reported in the area.
“The Indian Army and J&K Police prevented an infiltration attempt in Sabura Nala, Uri sector. Contact was made between troops and terrorists early this morning, with operations still ongoing. Firing persists.
Further details awaited,” stated Army sources. This follows a similar incident last December when the Indian Army’s 16 Corps, also known as the ‘White Knight Corps’, prevented an infiltration bid in the International Border sector at Khour in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu district.
“The White Knight Corps successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt in the IB sector of Khour, Akhnoor. Suspicious activity involving four terrorists was detected through surveillance devices on the night of December 22-23,” reported the White Knight Corps.
