India Defeats South Africa by 11 Runs in a Nail-Biting Thriller
In a nail-biting thriller, India defeated South Africa by 11 runs in the 3rd T20I match at SuperSport Park, Centurion.
Earlier, South Africa won the toss and opted to field, putting India in to bat. India posted a huge total of 219/6 in the allotted 20 overs, thanks to a blistering knock from Tilak Varma (107 off 56) and Abhishek Sharma’s quick 50 off 25 balls. For South Africa, Maharaj and Shamsi each took two wickets.
Chasing the massive target, South Africa fell just 11 runs short of victory. Marco Jansen, who also bowled well, scored a quick 54 off 17 balls, while Klaasen contributed 41 off 22. Their efforts pushed South Africa’s score past 200, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.
For India, Arshdeep Singh picked up three wickets, while Axar Patel bowled an economical spell, conceding just 29 runs in his four overs.
South Africa conceded 19 extras while bowling, compared to India’s 6 extras, which played a crucial role in India’s victory. With this win, India now leads the series 2-1. Tilak Varma was awarded Man of the Match for his outstanding innings.
All eyes are now on the decisive 4th T20 match at The Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg. South Africa will look to level the series, while India will aim to secure a series win.
