India wrapped up the two-match Test series against Bangladesh with a convincing seven-wicket victory in the second Test on Tuesday. Despite weather disruptions that washed out two days of play, India secured a clean sweep after reaching the target of 95 runs in just 17.2 overs.
Yashasvi Jaiswal starred in the chase with a composed 51, while Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 29 as India comfortably reached 98 for 3. The win was set up by an outstanding bowling performance, with Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah each taking three wickets in Bangladesh’s second innings.
Bangladesh, resuming at 26/2, struggled against India’s relentless bowling. The trio of Ashwin, Jadeja, and Bumrah helped dismiss the hosts for 146, with overnight batter Shadman Islam standing out for his side with a fighting 50.
Earlier, Bangladesh posted 233 in their first innings, before India declared on 285/9 after a quick scoring effort. However, the match was marred by rain, with a wet outfield causing significant delays. Despite this, India maintained their momentum and dominated when play resumed.
The extended lunch session on the final day allowed India to complete Bangladesh’s innings, leaving them a modest target of 95. With Jaiswal leading the charge, India chased down the runs with ease, sealing the win and the series.
