In a significant gathering, high-ranking security officials convened on Wednesday to synchronize and devise security strategies for the Union territory, taking into account the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. The meeting was presided over by R R Bhatnagar, who serves as an advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, and Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, the Commander of the Army’s Northern Command, as confirmed by a statement from a defense spokesperson.
The official statement released on the matter read, “A security review meeting of top officials from security agencies in Jammu and Kashmir was conducted at Headquarters 15 Corps in Srinagar. The primary objective was to align and formulate security plans within the Union Territory in response to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.

“Various aspects pertaining to the current security situation within the Union Territory were extensively deliberated upon. The meeting saw the participation of key figures such as the Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir, the Chinar Corps commander, and other senior representatives from the military, state administration, and security agencies.
The spokesperson highlighted that the situation in the Middle East was a central point of discussion, with a comprehensive exploration of potential contingency scenarios. Furthermore, the intricacies of security considerations in the region in light of the impending winter season were also addressed during this crucial meeting.
