Government to Commemorate Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s Birth Anniversary with Good Governance Day Celebrations
The Department of Personnel and Training is set to observe Good Governance Day on December 25, coinciding with the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh, responsible for various government departments, will inaugurate this event at North Block, New Delhi, as detailed in a press release by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions.
During the event, Jitendra Singh will introduce three new features on the iGOT Karmayogi Platform: ‘My iGOT,’ ‘blended programs,’ and ‘curated programs.’
‘My iGOT’ aims to provide tailored training courses personalized to the unique capacity-building requirements of individual officers within their ministries or departments.
This personalized approach ensures a precise alignment between individual learning needs and organizational goals.
The iGOT-Karmayogi platform has seen over 28 lakh users onboard, offering approximately 830 high-quality e-learning courses.
‘Blended programs’ on this platform intend to ensure uniform access to training methods across various hierarchical levels, combining traditional classroom learning with online components.
This model harnesses the flexibility of online courses while preserving the benefits of face-to-face interactions.
Additionally, ‘Curated programs’ will cater to diverse learning needs by allowing course providers to customize content, resources, and assessments from the iGOT repository, delivering a more tailored learning journey.
To further enhance civil servants’ capabilities, Jitendra Singh will unveil 12 domain-specific e-learning courses developed under the Annual Capacity Building Plan by the Karmayogi Digital Learning Lab (KDLL) of the DOPT.
These courses aim to address domain competency requirements within the DOPT and support other governmental bodies in managing operational tasks effectively.
Furthermore, a new blended learning initiative named ‘VIKAS’ (Variable & Immersive Karmayogi Advanced Support) will be introduced. VIKAS, complementing iGOT, encompasses 33 hours of online training coupled with 30 hours of offline sessions at ISTM, emphasizing functional, behavioral, and technological competencies pertinent to middle management civil servants in the Central Secretariat.
