DODA, SEPTEMBER 04 – Government Dy SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College Kastigarh recently hosted a comprehensive two-day voter awareness program under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative. This event aimed to foster civic engagement and promote responsible voting among students.
On the first day, Prof. Sat Pal, the Nodal Officer for SVEEP, delivered an insightful lecture on the significance of voter participation.
He underscored the vital role each citizen plays in shaping the future of the nation, the influence of informed voting on national policies, and the broader scope of civic duties that extend beyond merely casting a ballot.
The second day featured a voter pledge drive where participants were encouraged to commit to their civic responsibilities and pledge their votes for the upcoming legislative assembly elections.
Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra, the Principal of the college, emphasized the institution’s dedication to upholding democratic values and ensuring students grasp the power of their vote.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff, reflecting the college’s commitment to nurturing informed and active citizenship.
