The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police have implemented Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) on December 31 and January 1, aiming to prevent unlawful gatherings of five or more individuals in Noida and Greater Noida. Additionally, unauthorized processions, public religious prayers, and the consumption of alcohol in public places are prohibited during Sunday and Monday.

The police directive also imposes a ban on the use of private drones within a one-kilometre radius of government establishments. For drone use in other areas, police permission is mandatory, as stipulated by the order issued by the police commissionerate.

In anticipation of New Year’s Eve festivities extending into January 1 and various programs scheduled during this time, the order highlights the potential for disruptions to public peace by anti-social elements. Consequently, precautionary arrangements have been put in place to ensure safety and address any disturbances that may arise.

The directive emphasizes the imperative of maintaining peace and harmony within the Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate by preventing any actions that could potentially lead to adverse situations.

The police have declared that violations of these prohibitory measures will be considered punishable offenses. These steps are taken to safeguard public order and to ensure that the New Year celebrations occur without compromising public safety and security.
