A recent study by Cryptorush Casino analyzed more than 50 countries to determine the top countries with the happiest retirees. The study included several key factors: rent, cost of living, safety, climate, infrastructure, quality of life, and healthcare. Additionally, the average pension per retiree was calculated, based on the GDP percentage allocated to pensions and the number of retirees in each country. The final rankings were determined based on a composite score calculated for all these criteria, with the average pension amount weighted more heavily in the calculation.
Topping the list of countries with the happiest retirees is Norway, with a composite score of 77. Norway offers the highest average yearly pension of $42,513 among the analyzed countries. The country’s remarkable blend of safety, healthcare quality, climate, infrastructure and quality of life positions Norway at the top.
Following closely is Denmark, scoring 76, which ranks 2nd on the list of countries with the happiest retirees. Danish retirees enjoy an impressive quality of life (one of the highest in the world) and healthcare, supported by an average yearly pension of $27,315.
Finland stands at the 3rd spot, with a composite score of 74. This country offers a balanced life with a high quality of life, healthcare and infrastructure, alongside an average pension of $26,353 per year.
The Netherlands ranks 4th on the list of countries with the happiest retirees, with a composite score of 70. Dutch retirees benefit from the highest quality of life among the top countries and excellent healthcare.
Rounding out the top five is Spain, with a composite score of 69, where the climate index is the highest, comfortable especially for retirees. The lowest life and rent expenses, coupled with a high quality of life and an average pension of $20,452, make Spain the go-to destination for those dreaming of a perfect retirement by the sea.
Switzerland, with a score of 68, ranks 6th on the list of countries with the happiest retirees. Its safety and healthcare quality, coupled with the 3rd highest average pension of $31,188, makes it a perfect retirement destination, despite its high cost of living.
Singapore scores a composite of 66.4, ranking it 7th on the list. With an average pension of $39,644 (second highest), Singapore provides financial stability, a safe environment and a great healthcare system for retirees.
With a composite score of 66, Japan offers retirees a blend of tradition and innovation. It stands out for the highest safety and best healthcare system, making it a secure destination for retirees. Interestingly, Japan has the highest % of the population above 65, justifying the lowest yearly pension on the list.
Scoring 65 overall, Germany gets the 8th spot on the list of countries with the happiest retirees. The country provides a high quality of life and a great healthcare system, supported by an average pension of $24,738, offering a stable retirement.
Rounding off the list of the top 10 countries with the happiest retirees, Belgium has a composite score of 62. Though its safety score may be lower than in other countries on the list, Belgium offers a high quality of life, healthcare, and a high average pension of $30,394 indicative of the country’s high living standards for retirees.
