Five Arrested for Illegal Forest Extraction in kishtwar jk
On Sunday, law enforcement authorities apprehended five individuals, including two Nepali residents, for their alleged involvement in unauthorized extraction of forest resources in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. The police disclosed that a vehicle was intercepted at Gulabgarh during the operation, leading to the discovery of five bags filled with a substantial quantity of illicitly obtained forest produce.
The arrested individuals were identified as Nawang Sentam from Kabban-Paddar in Kishtwar, Kshitij Bhutani from Delhi, Mahaver from Uttarakhand, and Sagar Tamang and Gan Magar, both residents of Nepal currently residing in Dehradun. Alongside the arrests, the authorities seized the implicated vehicle.
The police spokesperson stated that a case has been registered under pertinent sections of the law at the Atholi police station, and a comprehensive investigation is underway to delve into the matter further.
