The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle apprehended six individuals involved in human trafficking in Rawalpindi, ARY News reported. The crackdown, aimed at combating visa fraud and human trafficking, led to the capture of Manwar Butt, Tahir Muzammil, Zeeshan Sadiq, Abdullah, Liaqat Hussain, and Mohammad Rizwan during raids in Rawalpindi and Mundi Bahauddin.
These traffickers allegedly extorted significant sums of money from citizens by falsely promising overseas employment. According to the FIA spokesperson, Tahir Muzammil was accused of stealing PKR 260,000 from a citizen for a supposed job in Qatar, while Munawar Butt defrauded citizens of PKR 6.6 million under the pretense of securing jobs. Three cases have been filed against Butt.
Zeeshan Sadiq reportedly took PKR 664,000 from individuals for employment in Malaysia, and Abdullah conned PKR 260,000 from citizens by claiming to provide jobs in Dubai.
This intensified effort by the FIA aims to bring justice to those responsible for these fraudulent acts and protect the victims. The crackdown is a response to the rising crime and violence in Pakistan, exacerbated by the deteriorating law and order situation and economic struggles. As instances of human trafficking and visa fraud become more common, the citizens continue to suffer the consequences.
