Drug Peddler arrested in baramula Under PIT NDPS act
On Friday, the Jammu and Kashmir Police took decisive action against a wanted drug peddler, Shoaib Aijaz Guru, by invoking the stringent PIT NDPS Act in the Baramulla district of North Kashmir.
A spokesperson for the police stated, “In a resolute effort to combat drug peddling and eliminate the scourge of drugs from our society, the Police have charged Shoaib Aijaz Guru, a highly sought-after and notorious drug smuggler, under the PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla. He has been subsequently incarcerated in the Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jammu.”
The individual in question, Shoaib Aijaz Guru, also known as Shoaib, is the son of Aijaz Ahmad Guru and resides in Milat Colony, Kanis Pora, Baramulla. The police took this action following the issuance of formal detention orders from the competent authority.
“The detained drug smuggler, who has a notorious track record, has been placed under custody and is now held in Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jammu.”
It is worth noting that multiple cases had been registered against these drug smugglers, who were actively involved in facilitating the drug trade by supplying narcotics to the local youth in Town Baramulla and other areas of the district. Despite facing numerous FIRs, Shoaib Aijaz Guru persisted in his illicit activities, continuing to promote the drug abuse trade.
The general public of Baramulla has expressed their appreciation for the proactive stance taken by the Police against drug peddlers. The consistent efforts of the Baramulla Police in tackling drug-related offenses should reassure the community that law enforcement is committed to ensuring a drug-free society.
