Doda Triumphs in U/19 Boys Divisional Level Kho-Kho Championship
October 03, Doda – The Divisional Level Kho-Kho championship for U/19 boys concluded with Doda emerging as the victorious team, defeating Jammu by an impressive inning and 15 points at the Sports Stadium Doda. In a one-sided match, Udhampur secured the third place by beating Kathua with an inning and 4 points.
In the semi-finals held earlier, Jammu secured a victory over Udhampur by a margin of 10 points, while Kathua faced defeat with an inning and 15 points against the hosts, Doda.
The sporting extravaganza, which commenced on September 12, 2023, witnessed the participation of around 1300 male and female players, coaches, and team managers from various districts of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. The events included Volleyball, Wrestling, and Kho-Kho.

The carnival’s inauguration took place on September 12, 2023, with Mr. Vishesh Mahajan, District Development Commissioner Doda, officiating the ceremony. The event also saw the presence of Mr. Abdul Qayoom, SSP Doda, Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Wani, DIO, and various other district officers of Doda.
All events were organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory under the patronage of Mr. Shubash Chander Chibber, Director Youth Services and Sports. The supervision of the event was carried out by Mr. Suram Chand Sharma, Joint Director of Youth Services and Sports in Jammu and Kashmir. Mr. Jaffer Haider Sheikh, DYSSO Doda, served as the organizing secretary and manager of the events.
On the closing day of the carnival, Mr. Suresh Padha, ZPEO Doda, distributed trophies and merit certificates to the winners. On behalf of DYSSO Doda, he extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the players, coaches, managers, and the entire host district’s staff for their contributions to the successful organization of the events. He expressed gratitude to everyone who played a part in making the tournament a success.
