Doda to Observe Dry Day on October 8 and 9 for Legislative Assembly Election Vote Counting
With the Legislative Assembly election vote counting in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir just a day away, District Magistrate of Doda, Harvinder Singh, has declared a dry day on October 8 and 9. The announcement, made on Sunday, aims to maintain law and order during the counting process.
According to the official order, all liquor outlets, trades, and vends within the district’s jurisdiction will remain closed from midnight on October 8 until midnight on October 9. This directive has been issued under Section 47 of the JK Excise Act 1958, and strict action will be taken against any violators.
Voting of counting is set to commence on October 8, 2024.
