
Doda Police Seize Two Dumpers for Illegal Mining
In a continued crackdown against illegal mining, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Doda seized two dumpers involved in the illegal transportation of construction material on Friday.
According to officials, the action was carried out in the jurisdiction of Police Post Khellani under Police Station Doda on the directions of Sandeep Mehta, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda.
Police teams led by the in-charge of Police Post Khellani were conducting routine checking in the area when they intercepted two dumpers bearing registration numbers JK14H-1516 and JK14K-2416.
The vehicles were reportedly driven by Joginder Singh, son of Rattan Singh, and Harbans Singh, son of Shankar Singh, both residents of Chenani.
During inspection, the dumpers were found carrying minor mineral, identified as Bajri, without valid documents such as a GR or Form-A, which are required for legal transportation of mining material.
Following the violation, both vehicles were seized by the police. The matter has been referred to the District Mineral Office Doda for further legal action under the relevant provisions of law.
