DEO Kishtwar Reviews Final Arrangements for Vote Counting
Key Highlights:
- DEO Kishtwar reviews vote counting arrangements for three constituencies.
- Joint inspection conducted with SSP to ensure smooth process.
- Security, infrastructure, and essential facilities examined.
In preparation for the upcoming vote counting in Kishtwar, District Election Officer (DEO) Rajesh Kumar Shavan, JKAS, conducted a thorough review of the arrangements for the transparent and smooth counting of votes across the district’s three assembly constituencies: 48-Inderwal, 49-Kishtwar, and 50-Paddar Nagseni.
The counting will take place at the Kendriya Vidyalaya, where specific arrangements have been made for each constituency.
Accompanied by SSP Abdul Qayoom, JKPS, the DEO inspected the counting centers to ensure a hassle-free process. The review covered essential infrastructure, safety measures, seating arrangements for candidates and their agents, and provisions for staff and other stakeholders involved in the process.
The inspection also focused on technical and logistical aspects, including barricading, IT and communication systems, and the establishment of a media cell. DEO Shavan expressed satisfaction with the preparations made so far, particularly the security measures.
In addition to inspecting the physical arrangements, Shavan emphasized the need for basic facilities like washrooms, drinking water, and fire safety precautions. Medical personnel will also be stationed on standby for any emergencies during the counting process.
Several officials accompanied the DEO, including ROs from the three constituencies—Pawan Kotwal for 49-Kishtwar, Idrees Lone for 48-Inderwal, and Dr. Amit Kumar for 50-Paddar Nagseni—as well as ASP Pawan Sharma and other election and logistical officers.
Furthermore, the process of staff randomization for counting has been completed, with 130 percent of the required staff identified and trained to ensure the process runs efficiently.
