Kishtwar, August 19, 2024 : In preparation for the upcoming Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024, the District Election Officer (DEO) Kishtwar, Sh. Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS), convened a critical meeting to assess the district’s readiness.
The meeting included key officers like SSP Kishtwar, Sh. Abdul Qayoom (JKPS), ADDC Kishtwar/Nodal Officer for the Model Code of Conduct, Sh. Ghulam Rasool, and other prominent district officials.
During the session, DEO Kishtwar conducted a comprehensive review of essential aspects crucial for ensuring a smooth, free, and fair election. The discussion covered various domains, including training management, law and order, the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign, and EVM management.
Other topics included the functionality of control rooms, surveillance teams, and the operations of the Election Expenditure Monitoring and Media Monitoring Committees.
SSP Kishtwar, Sh. Abdul Qayoom (JKPS), presented the district’s security plan, highlighting constituency-wise deployment of security personnel and the need for a robust communication strategy to ensure a secure election process.
The DEO emphasized the importance of verifying the polling station list on the district website and ensuring that I-Cards are issued to all election staff.
He also reviewed the logistics for polling staff and security personnel, instructing the responsible officers to prepare intermediate strong rooms at designated locations within a week.
In closing, DEO Kishtwar urged all officers to work in close coordination to guarantee the elections are conducted with the highest level of efficiency and success.
