Delhi CM Granted Time to Respond to ED Summons
The Rouse Avenue Court has given Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal two weeks to file rejoinders on the replies filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding summons issued to him, as reported by ANI.
Special Judge Rakesh Syal granted the extension for filing rejoinders and scheduling arguments on revisions after hearing submissions from Kejriwal’s counsel.
The matters are set for further hearing on May 14. Kejriwal’s lawyers cited his arrest in the Delhi Excise policy case as the reason for the delay in obtaining instructions from him.
The ED had previously filed replies to two revisions challenging the issuance of summons related to the Delhi Excise policy case. Kejriwal has been in ED custody until May 7, and earlier attempts to stay the summons issued by the court were unsuccessful.
The ED seeks Kejriwal’s statement regarding the policy formulation, meetings, and allegations of bribery in connection with the case.
