Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Granted Bail in ED Summons Case
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appeared before the Rouse Avenue Court in the national capital on Saturday in connection with the Enforcement Directorate summons case. The court later granted him bail in both complaints filed by the Enforcement Directorate.
Bail Granted with Conditions
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Divya Malhotra granted bail to Kejriwal on a bail bond of Rs 15,000 and a surety of Rs 1 lakh. The Delhi CM appeared before the court following summons issued to him by the court based on two ED complaints related to the Delhi Excise Policy case.
Challenges and Investigation
The Rouse Avenue Court had reserved an order on the stay of summons issued to Kejriwal on complaints filed by the ED. Kejriwal had challenged the summons issued by the court after taking cognizance of two complaints filed by the ED to avoid the summons issued to him.
According to the Enforcement Directorate, the agency wants to record Kejriwal’s statement in the case regarding issues such as the formulation of policy, meetings held before its finalization, and allegations of bribery.
