Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Sh Rajesh Kumar Shavan-JKAS today chaired a meeting of the officers of the line departments and representatives of Socio-religious organisations to finalise the arrangements for the celebration of Ramnavami, Mahanavami and Dussehra festival at Kishtwar.

In the meeting,the representative of Snatan Dharm Sabha apprised DC Kishtwar that the venue for effigies shall be chowgan Ground besides the Jhanki shall be taken from Aadarsh Dramatic Club, Dharmshalla Kishtwar to Chowgan Ground on traditional route from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on 12-10-2024.

They requested for ensuring that the arrangements pertaining to the facilities of uninterrupted drinking water and power supply in the town and adjoining areas, water tanker facility in Chowgan Ground. The demand for installation of stage and proper barricading at the venue, cleanliness and hygiene at all temples in the town was also put forth.

The Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar assured the members of sabha that all the arrangements will be put in place well in time on the day of celebration.He also said that sufficient deployment of security Personnels enroute and at the venue shall be ensured on the day.

Meanwhile, DC Kishtwar gave necessary directions to all the HODs besides stressed them to work in coordination to ensure timely and adequate arrangements during the festival.

ExEn PHE was directed for arranging pipes and barricading for the venue.CMO Kishtwar was directed to ensure Ambulance and emergency Medicare facilities along the Jhanki and at the venue for the smooth celebration of Dussehra festival.

SSP Kishtwar informed participants that alternative routes shall be activated on the occasion so that normal traffic is not hampered and Jhanki is taken out in hassle free manner.

Those who attended the meeting was attended included SSP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom-JKPS,ADDC Kishtwar Ghulam Rasool, ADC Kishtwar Pawan Kotwal, ACR Kishtwar Idrees Lone,CEO Kishtwar Development Authority Dr Rishi Kumar, ACD Kishtwar Phulail Singh,NT Kishtwar, EXEns of PHE, PDD,officers and officials of various departments besides the representatives of Sanatan Dharm Sabha led by its president Sh Arvind Parihar and other senior members including Bal Krishan Parihar.
