Daiso Founder Hirotake Yano Passes Away
Hirotake Yano, the founder of Daiso, the Japanese 100-yen shop chain, has passed away at the age of 80 due to heart failure. Yano started Daiso in 1977, offering a variety of goods, all priced at 100 yen.
Over the years, Daiso became known for selling a wide range of products and expanded its presence not only in Japan but also internationally, with nearly 1,000 stores outside Japan.
Yano’s innovative concept of fixed pricing contributed to the success of Daiso, making it a popular destination for shoppers seeking affordable and diverse items.
