The Commonwealth Essay Competition, organized by The Royal Commonwealth Society in London, is a venerable event with a history dating back to 1883. It holds the distinction of being the world’s oldest competition of its kind and draws in young writers from across the diverse Commonwealth nations.
Chirag’s achievement takes on an even more extraordinary sheen as he has been honored in the competition’s senior category, a distinction that underscores his exceptional literary prowess and unwavering commitment to the art of writing. This year’s theme, “Youth in Commonwealth,” served as the canvas for Chirag’s work, emphasizing the critical role of young people within the vibrant and multifaceted Commonwealth community.
Furthermore, Chirag received a High Commendation at the Y-20 (Youth-20) India talks, an event orchestrated by the Government of India and the Y-20 Consortium, under the auspices of the G-20 Summit earlier this year. In addition to these accomplishments, he also co-authored a research paper titled “Lost Legends of India.”Chirag dedicates this latest award to his late Grandfather and his mentor, Yashpal Gupta, who sowed the seeds of curiosity and public speaking in him from an early age.
His achievements transcend his own journey, serving as both a testament to his dedication and a wellspring of inspiration for aspiring young minds across the nation. They underscore the importance of nurturing talent, celebrating diversity, and recognizing the boundless potential of India’s youth.
