Chinar-Warriors Rescue 61 Stranded Tourists in Snow-hit Gulmarg, Provide Essential Aid Amid Harsh Weather
Chinar Warriors, a unit of the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, successfully rescued 61 tourists stranded in the snow-covered Gulmarg region of northern Kashmir. The tourists, including women and children, had become trapped due to heavy snowfall in the area.
The drop in temperature had left them stranded, prompting the Chinar Warriors to intervene.In response to the challenging conditions, the Army personnel provided the stranded tourists with essential amenities such as heating arrangements, sleeping bags, and hot meals, offering much-needed relief from the adverse weather conditions. Gulmarg, a globally renowned tourist destination, had transformed into a picturesque winter wonderland following the recent snowfall.

The snowfall had also led to the closure of several roads in the area, compounding the difficulties faced by both tourists and residents alike. This incident marks another instance of the Chinar Warriors stepping in to assist the community in the valley.Apart from the rescue operation, the Chinar Warriors had organized a medical camp at Ramhall and Taratpora on the same day, showcasing their commitment to the well-being of the local residents.
In a separate incident the day before, the group collaborated with the fire department to extinguish a fire in Bazipore, Manasbal, preventing the loss of life and property.The Chinar Warriors, operating as part of the Indian Army’s XC Corps, have a significant role in military operations in the Kashmir Valley.
Their active involvement in various community-oriented initiatives underscores their dedication to serving the people in the region. The unit has a history of participation in military conflicts with neighboring Pakistan and China, showcasing its versatility in both humanitarian and defense efforts.
