
Chemist Arrested in Ganderbal’s Anti-Drug Operation
In a recent development, the Ganderbal Police, in collaboration with the relevant Executive Magistrate, apprehended a chemist on charges of possessing and distributing illegal substances to young individuals. This operation also resulted in the closure of a medical store in Wakoora.
This action was a direct extension of the ongoing investigation into case FIR No. 287/2023, under the jurisdiction of the Ganderbal Police Station. One of the key suspects in this case, identified as Hilal Ahmad Ganie, son of Gh Mohi-ud-Din Ganie and a resident of Wakoora, had previously been taken into custody by the Ganderbal Police. During the course of questioning, Hilal Ahmad Ganie confessed that Ganie Medical Shop in Wakoora was actively involved in the distribution of illegal substances to the local youth.

Following this revelation, a joint operation involving the police force and the responsible Executive Magistrate was launched. Their primary target was Ganie Medical Shop in Wakoora. As the search unfolded, a significant quantity of illegal substances was discovered and subsequently confiscated on the premises.
The individual behind this illegal operation, identified as Mehraj-ud-Din Ganie, a resident of Wakoora and the chemist associated with the medical store, was promptly arrested for his involvement in the possession and distribution of these illegal substances to the local youth.In addition to the arrest, the Executive Magistrate, holding the position of 1st Class in Wakoora, took immediate action to seal the Ganie Medical Shop on the spot. This decisive action aims to curb the circulation of illegal substances and uphold the safety and well-being of the local community.
