Chatroo Kishtwar Encounter: DGP J&k Visits Encounter Site

Kishtwar, May 22, 2025:

The Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, Sh.Nalin Prabhat-IPS, today visited the Singhpora-Chatroo area of District Kishtwar, where a major anti-terrorists operation is currently underway. The operation is being carried out jointly by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K Police, Indian Army, and other paramilitary forces including CRPF.

The DGP was accompanied by IGP Jammu Zone Sh. Bhim Sen Tuti-IPS and DIG DKR Range Sh. Shridhar Patil-IPS, and held a comprehensive review of the ground situation and strategy with officers leading the operation.

Earlier this morning, a brief exchange of fire took place, after which a massive combing operation was launched to track the hiding terrorists. SSP Kishtwar and other officers from the Police, Army and CRPF are camping at the encounter site to ensure effective coordination among the forces in order to eliminate the hiding terrorists at the earliest.

The DGP personally visited the dense forests and mountainous terrain, encouraged the deployed personnel, and issued directions to ensure that all terrorists involved are dealt strictly and brought to justice.

The DGP of J&K Police lauded the synergy among all security agencies and reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Jammu and Kashmir Police to maintaining peace and order in the region through sustained and focused operations.
