Bravery and Sacrifice: Remembering the Fallen Heroes of Rajouri Encounter
In a tragic encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, the Indian Army lost two officers and three soldiers while combating terrorism. Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar paid tribute to the fallen heroes, identifying them as Captains MV Pranjal and Shubham Gupta, and Havildar Abdul Majid. Their valor and dedication to the nation were honored in his social media post.
Profiles of the Bravehearts
- Captain MV Pranjal: A 29-year-old officer from the 63 Rashtriya Rifles, Captain Pranjal was an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and an engineering graduate. Hailing from Mysuru, he grew up in Surathkal in Dakshina Kannada district and resided in Anekal, Bengaluru. His last rites were planned in Bannerghatta near Anekal.
- Captain Shubham Gupta: From Agra district, Captain Gupta joined the Indian Army in 2015 and was commissioned in 2018. His first posting was in Udhampur. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences for Captain Gupta’s sacrifice.
- Havildar Abdul Majid: Belonging to Ajote in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, Havildar Majid’s sacrifice was also mourned.
- Lance Naik Sanjay Bisht: From Halli Padli in Nainital, Uttarakhand, Lance Naik Bisht was one of the brave soldiers who lost their lives.
- Paratrooper Sachin Laur: Hailing from Nagaliya Giurola in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, Paratrooper Laur’s bravery was also commemorated.
The Rajouri Encounter
The encounter, which began on Wednesday morning in the Kalakot forests, concluded on Thursday evening. Search operations are currently ongoing. The operation resulted in the elimination of two Pakistani terrorists, including a high-ranking sniper and weapons expert from Lashkar-e-Taiba, identified as Quari.
These brave soldiers exemplify the utmost dedication and courage of the Indian Armed Forces in safeguarding the nation’s security. The nation mourns their loss and salutes their indomitable spirit.
