DM Kishtwar enforces strict Ramadan donation guidelines
KISHTWAR, Feb 19: The District Magistrate Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma has directed strict regulation for collection of donation during Ramadan citing misuse and unauthorized fund-raising. The directive mandates prior authorization for NGOs, trusts and individuals, transparent record‑keeping, and prohibits coercion or obstruction in seeking donations.
Therefore, Sub Registrars must publish lists of registered charitable trusts within five days, while a District Vigilance Helpline has been activated for complaints. The order, effective immediately, will remain operative throughout Ramadan, with violators to face action under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023 and other preventive laws.
