Bihar Constable Recruitment Examination Faces Scandalous Leak Probe
The recruitment of constables in Bihar has plunged into turmoil as the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) launches an investigation into the question paper leakage, which prompted the cancellation of the October 1 examination.
Special Investigation Team to Unravel the Scandal
In response to the wide-ranging consequences of this scandal, the state police have established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) tasked with unraveling the question paper leak associated with the constable recruitment examination. Comprising two IPS officers, six DSPs, 13 inspectors, and two sub-inspectors, the team’s mission is to uncover the truth behind this extensive cheating operation. Shockingly, 75 FIRs have been registered in 22 districts across the state, leading to the arrest of 150 individuals allegedly involved in the question paper leak.
The Examination Leak’s Far-Reaching Impact
The leak of question papers, allegedly orchestrated by a criminal network operating within a printing press, has had far-reaching implications. The Central Selection Board of Constables (CSBC), which conducted the examination on October 1, was compelled to cancel it due to the widespread leak.
Chaos and Disappointment for Aspiring Constables
Candidates who had put in extensive effort and preparation for the constable recruitment examination were devastated by its abrupt cancellation. The cancellation came as a rude shock for lakhs of candidates who had worked diligently to secure a position among the 21,391 constable vacancies advertised. Sadly, this incident is not an isolated one, as it echoes a similar case in 2022 when the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) question paper was also leaked, leading to the government’s decision to cancel the examination.
