The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has recently made significant changes in the Police Department by issuing a series of transfers and postings. In accordance with these orders, Rakesh Balwal, who had recently returned to the Manipur cadre, has been officially relieved from his duties as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Srinagar. He has been succeeded by Ashish Kumar Mishra.

The official order states, “In compliance with the authorization granted by the Competent Authority for the early repatriation of Shri Rakesh Balwal, IPS (MA: 2012) from the AGMUT cadre to his native cadre in Manipur, the officer is released from his responsibilities in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to facilitate his transition to his native cadre.

“Further, the order goes on to explain, “In the interest of effective administration, immediate changes in transfers and postings have been decreed. Firstly, Shri Ashish Kumar Mishra, who held the position of Senior Superintendent of Police in Anantnag, is reassigned as the Senior Superintendent of Police in Srinagar. Secondly, Shri G.V. Sandeep Chakravarthy has been reassigned as the Senior Superintendent of Police in Anantnag, replacing Shri Ashish Kumar Mishra.”
