Adani Group Denies Involvement in Uttarakhand Tunnel Collapse
The Adani Group has officially stated that it has no connection with the construction of the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand, where a tragic accident trapped 41 construction workers. This clarification came amid speculations linking the conglomerate to the tunnel project. The incident, which occurred on November 12 due to a landslide, caused a portion of the under-construction tunnel to collapse, leading to a critical situation for the trapped workers.
No Shares or Ownership in Construction Company
In a firm statement, an Adani Group spokesperson emphasized that neither the group nor any of its subsidiaries is involved, directly or indirectly, in the construction of the Silkyara tunnel. Furthermore, the group clarified that it does not own or hold any shares in the company responsible for the tunnel’s construction, which is being handled by Navayuga Engineering Company Limited, based in Hyderabad.
Adani Group’s Condemnation of False Claims and Solidarity with Victims
The Adani Group strongly condemned any attempts to falsely associate its name with the tunnel collapse. The group expressed its concern and solidarity, stating that its thoughts and prayers are with the trapped workers and their families during this difficult time. This statement from the Adani Group seeks to dispel any misinformation and refocus attention on the ongoing rescue efforts and support for the affected workers and their loved ones.
