    KISHTWAR, 18 Oct. – Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kishtwar, Phulail Singh (JKAS), visited Model Panchayat Chatroo Lower A in Block Inderwal to review the ongoing development work.

    This visit was part of the initiative by District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, to transform 13 Gram Panchayats into Model Panchayats across the district, ensuring saturation of all scheme indicators to benefit the local population.

    During the visit, Phulail Singh met with the Village Monitoring Committee, local residents, and former Panchayat Raj Institution (PRI) members to discuss the Panchayat’s progress and challenges. He emphasized the need to fill gaps in critical areas such as rainwater harvesting, plantation drives, and housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G).

    Additionally, he instructed the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Inderwal, Hitesh Kumar (JKAS), to ensure sanitation and greywater management in collaboration with the local community.

    As part of the visit, the ACD also inaugurated the Unnati training program for job card holders who have completed 100 days of work under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).

    This program aims to enhance the skills and employability of rural youth, helping them secure better job opportunities. The event saw the participation of the Director and staff of the Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), along with other officials from the Rural Development Department (RDD).

    The District Administration remains committed to transforming the rural areas of Kishtwar into vibrant, self-reliant communities through strategic governance and development initiatives.
