In an impressive display, the Indian cricket team surged to the top of the Cricket World Cup 2023 points table with a commanding 100-run victory over defending champions England in Lucknow this past Sunday. The Indian pace duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami stole the show after India set a somewhat modest total, thanks to gritty innings from Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav.
With this resounding triumph, India solidified their position as the only unbeaten team in the competition, securing 12 points from their six matches. Meanwhile, England’s struggles continued as they languished at the bottom of the table with only two points. South Africa currently occupies the second spot in the points table, boasting 10 points and the best Net Run Rate among all the teams, with New Zealand and Australia following as the third and fourth teams, respectively.
