1 Million GB Per Second: Japan Shatters Internet
Japan has set a world record in internet speed by achieving 1.02 petabits per second (over 1 million GB) across 1,808 km using a groundbreaking 19-core optical fiber.
This ultra-thin fiber-just 0.125 mm thick- can transmit massive data volumes, enabling future technologies like Al, 6G, and IoT.
Unlike previous breakthroughs limited by distance, this fiber maintains speed over
long ranges without interference. It’s like upgrading a single-lane road to a 19-lane
data superhighway.
This innovation paves the way for next-gen digital infrastructure.
