Indian Women’s Team Prepares for AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifiers in Uzbekistan
The Indian Women’s Team, led by head coach Thomas Dennerby, has unveiled its 22-member squad set to participate in the Round 2 AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifiers in Uzbekistan. The Blue Tigresses are part of Group C, and they will face formidable opponents, including Japan, Vietnam, and Uzbekistan in a battle for qualification.
Challenging Competition Awaits
The Indian women’s team is up against some formidable competition in the Round 2 qualifiers. Japan, with a ranking of 8, stands as a strong side, while Vietnam (ranked 34) and Uzbekistan (ranked 50) also present challenging adversaries. The Indian team, currently ranked at 61, recognizes the difficulties that lie ahead.
A Stronger and United Unit
Despite the stiff competition, Thomas Dennerby is confident that the Indian women’s team has evolved into a more potent force. He believes that they are now a stronger and more cohesive unit than before, and they are determined to give their all in pursuit of qualification.
Realistic Expectations
Acknowledging the formidable task of beating Japan, Dennerby remains realistic about the team’s goals.
