Romanian PM Marcel Ciolacu resigns after vote loss
BUCHAREST, May 5 (Reuters) – Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu resigned his post on Monday after the candidate backed by his pro-Western coalition failed to make it to the run-off in a presidential election.

His centre-left Socialists would withdraw from the coalition, while cabinet ministers will stay on in an interim capacity until a new majority emerges after the presidential run-off, he said.
