Jammu Police arrests drug Peddler, recovers heroin(Chita) like substance in R.S. Pura area

Jammu, March 29, 2025: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Jammu Police arrested a drug peddler and seized 6.66 grams of heroin (Chitta)-like substance in the R.S. Pura area. This action reinforces the police’s commitment to eradicating the menace of narcotics from society.

A team from Police Station R.S. Pura led by SHO R.S. Pura, assisted by I/C BPP Chakrohi, was conducting routine patrolling when they intercepted a suspicious individual. The accused, identified as Jagdev Kumar alias Mittu, son of Rattan Lal, resident of Kapoorpur, Tehsil Suchetgarh, District Jammu, was searched, leading to the recovery of the contraband.

An FIR No. 57/2025 under Sections 8/20/21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station R.S. Pura, and the accused has been taken into custody. Investigations are underway to identify the source of the drugs and any potential links to a wider network.
