    Cross-Border Firing Has Devastated Lives: JK Deputy CM

    Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Monday said that cross-border firing in Jammu and Kashmir has caused immense suffering since 1947.

    Speaking to reporters in Baramulla, Choudhary, said, “It is unfortunate that we have been witnessing this since 1947, and it has ruined lives whenever it erupts. Hopefully, we will get rid of it.”

    When asked about illegal mining in water bodies, he assured strict action, stating that the government has adopted a “zero-tolerance policy” against such activities.

    “There will be no compromise on illegal mining. Be it sand mining or any other activity, action will be taken. A committee has been formed to look into the issue,” he said. (KNO)
