
JKSSB Releases Provisional Selection List for Supervisor Posts in Social Welfare Department
Srinagar, Feb 8: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released the Provisional Selection List for the post of Supervisor in the Social Welfare Department under various district cadres. The selection is based on Advertisement Notification No. 02 of 2023, dated December 8, 2023.
Revised Number of Posts
Initially, 201 posts were advertised for recruitment. However, the Social Welfare Department later revised the number to 186. These posts are distributed among different districts of Jammu and Kashmir, with category-wise reservations.

Breakdown of Posts
The selection list covers positions under the following district cadres:
- Kupwara (Item No. 08) – 20 posts
- Jammu (Item No. 09) – 8 posts
- Other districts such as Kathua, Baramulla, Rajouri, Samba, Budgam, Ganderbal, Poonch, Reasi, Kishtwar, Pulwama, Anantnag, Kulgam, Bandipora, Doda, Shopian, Ramban, and Udhampur are also included in the selection list.
Category-Wise Distribution
For example, the Kupwara district has 9 posts for Open Merit (OM), 2 for Scheduled Caste (SC), 2 for Scheduled Tribe (ST), and others distributed among Other Social Castes (OSC), ALC/IB, RBA, PSP, and EWS categories. Similarly, the Jammu district has 5 posts for OM, with reserved categories receiving the remaining positions.
Recruitment Process
The Social Welfare Department had forwarded the requisition for direct recruitment, and the JKSSB conducted the selection process based on the prescribed criteria. The list is now available for candidates to review, and further formalities will follow for final appointments.
