
JK Govt orders Blanket_Ban on Private Tuitions by Government School Teachers in Anantnag
Anantnag, 17 Dec– (VoM) In a significant move to ensure accountability and adherence to service rules, the Office of the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Anantnag, has issued a strict directive prohibiting all government school teaching staff from engaging in private tuition, coaching centers, or any form of private employment outside their official duties.
According to the order copy ,a copy of which lies with VoM which comes in line with instructions from the School Education Department, mandates that all Lecturers, Masters, and Teachers working under the administrative control of the office must refrain from any unauthorized involvement in private tuition or coaching activities.
The directive further states that all Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) and Heads of Institutions (HOIs) must certify that none of their staff are involved in such activities. Any violation of this directive will be met with stringent disciplinary action, as it constitutes a breach of the Jammu & Kashmir Employees Service Conduct Rules, 1971.

Additionally, Zonal-level monitoring committees, formed under a previous order, have been tasked with ensuring compliance. These committees will conduct regular inspections and promptly report any violations to the CEO’s office for further action.
The Chief Education Officer emphasized that the decision was made to maintain discipline, transparency, and professionalism within the education sector and to prevent any distractions that may affect the quality of education provided in government schools.
This step marks a significant effort by the administration to regulate private tutoring practices and uphold the standards of the government education system in the region.
