DM Doda Issues Restriction Order on Vehicle Movement and Parking in Doda Town
District Magistrate Doda issues restriction order under section 163 BNSS regarding movement / parking of vehicles in Municipal area of Doda Town.
As the queries regarding the congestion of road, inconvenience caused to people by jamming was surfaced in media reports also, and same was presented by various delegations to the Deputy Commissioner Doda. It was also witnessed, two wheeler, four wheelers and large number of vehicles were seen parked wrongly on the road sides of already congested road, leading to inconvenience to the public.

The wrong parking in Doda has become a nuisance, and on greater part, it’s a huge negligence also, which can causes hindrance in the smooth movement of traffic and the emergency services.
District Magistrate Doda has imposed following restrictions under 163 BNSS in municipal area of Doda town with immediate effect.
- No person shall park his/her vehicle on the following routes, except in the designated parking areas I parking lots and designated temporary bus stand:
a. Tourism building near Maruti Show room Doda to Old Bus Stand via Clock Tower.
b. Old Bus Stand to Y junction (Bharath-Ghat road junction).
c. Y junction (Bharath-Ghat road junction) to the house of Abdul Ahad Natnoo in Ward No. 13.
d. Y junction (Bharath-Ghat road junction) to GDC Chowk via Nagri Doda.
e. J&K Bank Branch Nagri to Hospital Road via circular road.
f. Clock Tower to District Police Lines Gate Doda via Dessa road. - The buses /metadors shall strictly park only on one side of the road(s) permitted parking.
- The auto rickshaws / load carriers shall park only in the designated stand(s).
- No person shall park any commercial vehicle on road side in municipal area of Doda Town and no loading unloading shall be allowed from 06:00 AM to 10:00 PM, unless permission is granted from District Administration.
- No movement of commercial/heavy vehicles shall be allowed in Doda Town from 06:00 AM to 10:00 PM except passenger buses/matador for hassle free movement of general public. Passenger vehicles shall also ensure to park the vehicles only at the designated parking areas.
- One way traffic shall be permitted from Circular Road Tondwah to Khan’s Plaza and from Khan’s Plaza via Clock Tower.
The order shall come into effect from 20th of December, 2024. Any violation in this behalf shall be dealt under the relevant provisions of law.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Dy. SP Traffic and ARTO Doda shall ensure the implementation of this order in letter & spirit, order reads.
