Applications open for the 2026-27 UN Youth Ecopreneur Programme; UN Offers $10,000 Awards and Funding Opportunities
GENEVA, October 25, 2026 [VoM News]: Young entrepreneurs developing environmentally sustainable businesses and land restoration solutions can apply for the 2026-27 Youth Ecopreneur Programme, a United Nations-backed initiative offering business training, mentorship, international exposure and funding opportunities.
The programme is led by the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the G20 Global Land Initiative under the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). It primarily targets entrepreneurs under 35, particularly those from developing countries.
Selected participants will take part in a global bootcamp and accelerator, followed by the Youth Ecopreneur Awards, where finalists will pitch their businesses to an international audience. Winners will receive $10,000 in prize money.
Businesses in the land restoration category will also have access to a $100,000 equity-free funding pool, with selected entrepreneurs receiving funding without giving up ownership of their companies.
Applications are open in two categories: Green Business Solutions, covering areas such as circular economy, low-carbon technologies and sustainable materials, and Land Restoration, which includes reforestation, soil conservation, agroforestry, wetland restoration and erosion control.
Applications close on November 22, 2026.
The programme has supported more than 350 entrepreneurs through previous cohorts. Its organisers said the previous cycle attracted over 1,500 applications from more than 120 countries.
Past participants have reported improvements in business credibility, professional networks and skills. Previous winners have also secured investment and international recognition for their ventures.
