Jammu, July 31: In a significant development, Jammu and Kashmir Police have taken decisive action against four alleged drug peddlers by attaching their properties under relevant sections of the law.
This operation was carried out on Wednesday as part of a broader crackdown on drug-related crimes in the region, according to a police official.
The properties attached include the residential houses of Reena alias Roopa, Shakeela, Pal Singh and his wife Seema alias Kheeri, all residents of Rajiv Nagar, as well as the house of Fareed Ali from Lower Ragoora.
The police, who described these individuals as “notorious drug peddlers and a menace to society,” believe that this action will send a strong message to those involved in the illegal drug trade.
Separate police teams were deployed to carry out the attachment of these properties, which is a legal measure employed to curb the activities of individuals involved in serious criminal offenses such as drug peddling.
The attachment of properties is seen as an effective deterrent, depriving offenders of their assets and disrupting their criminal networks.
This latest move is part of an ongoing drive by the Jammu and Kashmir Police to combat the growing drug problem in the city.
The police have intensified their efforts to identify, arrest, and prosecute individuals involved in drug trafficking, aiming to safeguard the community and prevent the spread of drug abuse.
The operation reflects the commitment of law enforcement agencies in Jammu and Kashmir to address the issue of drug peddling head-on, utilizing all available legal avenues to tackle the threat posed by these criminal activities.
