AWANTIPORA, July 21: In a tragic road accident during the night hours, a youth lost his life, and a woman was injured in the Barsoo area of Awantipora, South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Police officials confirmed the incident, stating that the accident involved a load carrier vehicle bearing the registration number JK13H-5253.
The vehicle met with an accident, resulting in the death of Aqib Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat, a resident of Noorpora Awantipora. The deceased youth’s untimely death has left the community in mourning.
Afroza, the wife of Fayaz Ahmad Ganie from Tral, sustained injuries in the same accident. She was promptly transported to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara for medical treatment. Her condition is currently stable, according to medical officials at the hospital.
Local authorities have taken swift action in response to the accident. The police in Awantipora have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.
They are working diligently to gather all relevant details and ensure justice for the victims and their families.
